The site of Whangsayoung Baekseo incident, Juron Mountain is 903 meters tall and makes fence out of Chungcheongbook-do Jecheon-city Baekun-myeon and Bongyang-eup. From Guhak Mountain, mountain chains are connected to the south side of Guhak Mountain and this passes Juron Mountain and goes down to Bakdaljae. This soars around Sirang Mountain(691m) and then goes down to Jecheon River which is upper region of Cheongpoong Lake. Like the song of 'Passing Bakdaljae while crying', Juron Mountain has Bakdaljae at the southern side and the name of this mountain is based on bottom of the ship and Juron(ship) was named. Also, Baeron shrine which is located at the entrance of Guhak-li Jobaekseokgol was established because the church members avoided oppression and took shelter in this shrine 200 years ago. Whang Sa Young who avoided Sinyubakhae in 1801 and took shelter in this shrine wrote Baekseo incident. But Whang Sa young was killed because of this writing. Iin this era, many people avoided the government because of oppression about their religion. In 1855, first modern school was established in this place but in 1866, Byeonginbakhae was caused and several people were killed. Also in this place, the tomb of Choi Yang Eop priest exists. This place is famous for pilgrimage of the catholic church. From Bakdaljae, if you pass Parangjae through the north ridge and then reach the peak of this mountain and go down through Pyeongdong-li which is convenient for transportation, you can reach the starting point. This course is the most common course. But this course came to lull because Bakdaljae tunnel which is 1960m was established in 1997. Currently, the course of Bongyang-eup Guhak-li Jobaekseokgol Baron shrine which is located at the southeast side is popular because it has quiet and beautiful valley.

Jobaekseokgol section (Baeron shrine ∼ Parangjae ∼ Peak ∼ Baeron shrine) Total time for hiking: 2 hours 50 minutes. Time for sections: Baron shrine - (25 minutes) - Last Jobaekseokgol house - (40 minutes) - Parangjae - (15 minutes) - Tombs - (20 minutes) - turn-off of ridge - (20 minutes) - Last Jobaekseokgol house - (25 minutes) - Baeron shrine

The train which is called the 'rose of sharon' started at 06: 50 in Cheongryangli and reaches Bongyang-eup Bongyang Station at 10: 03. At Bongyang Station, if you go straight to the north side through the 5th national highway, you can find Baeron Bridge which is located between Guhak-li's memorial stone, 'Boasting town' and 'Catholic Baeron shrine.'

If you cross the Jecheon River which is located at the upper region of Cheongpoong Lake and then go straight to the west side for 30 minutes, you can reach the parking lot of Baeron shrine. At the left side, the Minister which commemorates priest Choi Yang Eop stands there with Japanese larches. And at the right side, a pond which is made by Jecheon is really beautiful.

If you pass Baeron shrine through a concrete road which is located at the left side of the valley and then turn the corner, you can find a quiet mountain path. If you walk in the forest which is made of Japanese larches, you can hear the sound of water of Jobaekseokgol Valley and this sound is affectionate and good to hear. If you go up for 10 minutes, you can find a fallow field at the right side and you can see two houses at the end of this field. Behind the first house many bee hives are there and in the front of the second house, low and small stream is flowing.

If you go up 150 m further, you can find one detached house at the left side of the way. Master of this house is Kim Tae Su, but he does not live in this house and he visits here in farming season. In small stream in front of this house, debris barrier was installed. If you go up for 10 minutes, you can find the last house of Jobaekseokgol. This place is called 'Saemal town' and currently nobody lives in this town but someone raises livestock. At the last house, shabby pens are there and more than ten dogs and many Korean chickens are there with black goats scattered in this mountain. You had better fill your water bottle in this valley.

A large and pretty forest road is located around the golden larches. You can see pussy willows frequently because here, there is much water. This road is not straight and the direction changes frequently, therefore you can walk easily. In the center of this place, you can find the rest area. From the last house, if you start and go for 40 minutes, you can reach Parangjae which is Bakdaljae recreational forests. Distance from Baeron shrine to this place is 3.4 km. In Parangjae, sign which shows 'Welcome. This area is Bakdaljae recreational forests' can be seen and five wooden chairs are there. To the left, Bakdaljae side or over the valley, Baekun-myeon Pyeongdong-li Bakdaljae creational forests and Baeron shrine have signposts but, in Juron Mountain and Guhak Mountain, no signposts are there.

If you go through a narrow mountain path which is located at the right ridge for 35 minutes, you can reach Juron Mountain(903m). If you go up the mountain, people rarely visit this mountain so you can find that a lot of leaves are piled up. If you go straight for 15 minutes, you can find one tomb in the center of the trail. If you go up for 10 minutes through Dwenbial, you can find the ridge which is beautiful and you can view this place. If you look back, you can find woodlot of Japanese larches here and there. In atumn, this shows gold color and this looks really good. If you go up from here for 10 minutes, you can find Juron Mountain and you can view Guhak Mountain. Juron(ship) Mountain looks like a ship and because of this, this mountain was called 'Juron(ship) Mountain'. At the peak, black sign stands and there is a small rock. This rock is not high and this place is covered with scrubs so you can barely view sights.

Guhak Mountain which is located at the north side has a long ridge and Chiak Mountain National Park Namdaebong(1,187m) and Gamak Mountain(886m), Seokgiambong (905.7m), Yongdu Mountain(871m), Sirang Mountain(691m), Sambong Mountain (909m), Sipjabong(Choksaebong 983.2m), Baekun Mountain(1,087m) are there. You can find the western side and in this side, you can view the whole Baekun-myeon and in the eastern side, you can find Jobaekseokgol, Baeron shrine and the 5th national highway which is connected from Jecheon to Wonju.

If you want to descend, you should select 884 peaks to the northeast side and you should go down through the right ridge way which is located at the top of 884 peaks. From the north side, certain mountain path is main ridge for Guhak Mountain so you should not miss this path. This ridge way is very beautiful because in spring, this way is covered with Azaleas and this Azalea is gorgeous and fantastic.

If you turn the first rock and pass this rock, you can pass the mountain path which is covered with old pine trees and these old pine trees are showing off their splendid appearance. In narrow downhill road of the ridge which is located at the boundary of Ockjeon-li and Guhak-li, nobody visits here and a lot of leaves are piled up. Romantic maples are impressive and you can reach Anbu and you can find Jobaekseokgol downhill road.

Downhill road of Jobaekseokgol is covered with Japanese larches. If you go down for 20 minutes, you can reach the upper road of the last house. If you go down for 10 minutes by walk, you can reach Baeron shrine.
