Sinseon bong

Sinseon

Sinseon bong stands among Hakhyeol-li, Cheongpung-myeon and Neunggang-ni, Susan-myeon.
It is the highest peak on the ridge sprawling northwest toward Cheongpung between Mt. Gumsu (1,016 m) and Mt. Dong (896 m).
Specifically Sinseon Peak lies on the ridge that runs toward Cheongpung between Hakhyeon Valley south of Mt. Dong and Neunggang-cheon Valley north of Mangdeok Peak (Mangdeok-bong).
Jeongbang Temple (Jeongbangsa) is at the peak and Jeoseung Peak (Chosungbong/ 596 m) lies next to it.
On the foothill of the mountain is a rock that looks like a crane that is about to fly. The rock is called 'Hakbong Rock (hak: crane)'.
The nearby village 'Hakhyeon' is said to have gained its name from the rock as well.
